Objectives: Explain what fossil fuels are and list examples.
Materials: Images of fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas), worksheets, materials listed in activity
Hold up images of fossil fuels and ask students to define what fossil fuels are. Fossil fuels are formed from decayed plants and animals. This formation takes millions of years. Read the directions for this activity and have students perform it. Ask students to complete all worksheets and record their data.
