Sources of Energy
Day 7
Objectives: Identify sources of energy and their uses.
Materials: Colored pencils, Sources of Energy Vocabulary Book, powerpoint, energy sources worksheet, scissors, glue
Ask students to list sources of energy. Go over energy powerpoint. Describe how solar energy, wind, and moving water can be used to produce electricity. Explain the importance of fossil fuels. Have students create a vocabulary book of each source of energy (sun, solar energy, fossil fuels, coal, oil, natural gas, hydropower, wind power) by folding the paper in half, cutting up the definitions, and pasting them under the correct word. Students should cut the bold line along each vocabulary word but not all the way so the book can stay in one piece.
Assessment: Have students complete Energy Sources worksheet as their assessment.
