Resource Renewal
Day 6
Objectives: Describe a conservation practice in the local community.
Materials: Colored pencils, paper, video
Ask students what resource renewal is. Provide them with an example (protecting endangered species by saving their seeds, growing the seeds indoors, and putting the new plants back in their natural habitat). Ask students to come up with other examples. Have them draw their example and share it with the class. Compile all drawings into a quilt and place at the front of the room. Watch Pollution Solutions (Bill Nye the Science Guy).
Assessment: Think-Pair-Share about solutions they learned in the video. Record information shared in their journal.
